Community care

Updated: Mar 24

Twice a month we visit our local care home. Inter generational experiences are so important. We can learn so much from our youngest members of society and our older members. When we take the children into the care home, the residents faces just light up and it fills our hearts. Our children love visiting and they all say hello and give out hugs. We like to entertain our new friends with songs, playing games and telling stories.

We like to be interactive and have the residents join in and play with the children. We visit 4 different rooms and each room has great characters that our children are drawn to.

The residents help the children pick the songs we sing using our singing spoons. We play parachute games and ball games. When the better weather comes in we are going to start some gardening, so we can also get some fresh air. We have been loving our time at the care home and the staff there do such a great job. All aspects of community should be valued and utilised and we are so greatful to be able to spend time in Highgate carehome.
